In the past two years, five children have died in state care and another 30 youngsters known to child protection services also died, new figures show

Allegations of sexual and physical abuse made by children in care were not fully investigated by health chiefs, scathing reports have found.

'We need to think to the future for our family's needs'

The impact of domestic violence on youngsters was also ignored by staff while some failed to properly assess family members as foster carers.

The criticisms were unveiled in a series of reports that examined the care given to children and young people in

Corporate Child Abuse: The Unseen Global Epidemic

“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul”, Nelson Mandela says, “than the way in which it treats its children”.

Who would disagree?

Yet today children may be assaulted, diseased, or killed by pervasive corporate drugs, junk-foods and beverages, perverted by mindless violence in multiple modes, deployed as dead-end labour with no benefits, and then dumped into a corporate future of debt enslavement and meaningless work. How could this increasing systematic abuse be publicly licensed at every level?

I'll never see my grandchildren again

A GRANDMOTHER at the heart of a legal tug-of-war over the future of two young children claims she may never see them again – due to social services negligence and failures.

As reported by the Daily Echo, the two children will be separated and placed into adoptive homes after their grandmother lost a lastditch appeal to look after them.

London’s Civil Court of Appeal heard how the youngsters, aged three and five, had grown up in a volatile home with a history of domestic abuse and neglect, and have complex problems that need extra care.

But the case led one of the top judges in the country

Victim's tears as foster mum freed

A "DICKENSIAN" foster mother who carried out a decade-long catalogue of abuse against children in her care has escaped a jail sentence.

Any closure these victims had from winning their case has now dissipated with the absurd, disgusting sentencing.I don't believe for one minute her husband was unaware of the abuse, only so much can be hidden and to say the case was historic from only 20 years ago is ridiculous. The legal system is a disgrace.Plenty of people cope with diabetes, how idiotic this decision is!!!

Canada - System fails kids in care

Statistical analysis can be a dry subject, but not in the case of the report on how children and youth in B.C. government care are doing — these statistics measure how real people are faring.

Many are not faring well — the report notes that 50 per cent of young people leaving the child-welfare system at age 19 are on income assistance within six months.

The statistical report should not be seen as a means of pointing fingers, but as a tool for determining where improvements are needed.

The government released the report seven years after former judge Ted Hughes reviewed B.C.’s
