Accused of child abuse: A family's story

Julie and Keiron were adjusting to life with their new baby. She worked at home, he was soon to start a new job as a nanny. Then, one day, the police came to the door ...

Julie's story

It's a Tuesday like any other. Then, in the afternoon, there's a knock at the door. The dog starts barking and wakes our 12-week-old baby, Sam. My partner, Keiron, looks out of the upstairs window to see two women at the front door. We assume they are Jehovah's Witnesses and Keiron leans out, saying he can't come down. Then everything changes.

The women are police. They work in child protection services.

Auburn DoCS Office - Baby Proof Your 7 Week Old's House

Auburn DoCS, Department of Community Services or Auburn FACS, Auburn Family and Community Services (you would change your name regularly too if you were a criminal) have taken out this week's "Idiots of the week award." This award should be made hourly really when you look at the ridiculous behaviour these DoCS/FACS offices get away with, for example the mother who went to DoCS NSW Epping office for help.

I was called up this week to a house where Aburn DoCS/FACS were trying to remove a baby.

How would you live on seventeen dollars a day

on Tue, 05/22/2012 - 20:13
Dear Rachel

Onya for doing this but the Budget cut the legs off the already destitute.

It is appalling that the most traduced and vulnerable – children – are again being made to suffer when their parent is pushed in to Newstart.  It should be called Lifestop!

Even after you did this experiment – nobody in government took any notice of the plight of people trying to survive below the poverty line on these ridiculously low payments.

As you know, women in particular those who have been dragged through the Family Law process are often left with nothing.

The Most Vile and Inhumane Immigration Story You Will Read This Week

on Sat, 04/28/2012 - 14:15

Felipe Montes lived and worked in the United States for nine years. During that time, he held a full-time job, paid his bills, and fathered two children with his wife, Marie. He failed, however, to pay several traffic tickets, or to acquire a driver's license or car insurance. As a result, a 2010 traffic stop ended with Montes being taken to a detention center where he was scheduled for deportation.

Marie Montes gave birth to the couple’s third child while her husband was behind bars. Six weeks later Felipe Montes was deported.

Former West Fargo couple face six-week nightmare getting back their son

n June 2010, Kalvin Gruel’s son Tommy, adopted at birth nine months earlier, had a seizure. It was the latest in a long line of medical issues for Tommy, who had struggled since birth with weak connective tissue and a skull too big for his body and growing all the time. But the hospital staff suspected his eye hemorrhages and brain bleeding were instead signs of a shaken baby, and contacted Clay County Social Services. A week and a half after the seizure, the agency claimed Tommy and his older sister Kaylee were living in a dangerous environment and took custody of both children.

HAWLEY,
