Charity’s Secret Million

NEWCASTLE charity Life Activities is fighting for its life after sacking its chief executive and two of her deputies over the existence of a $1million fund concealed from the State Government.

It also faces a potential tax bill of $1million or more.

The State Government has begun an urgent investigation into the not-for-profit association and its relationship with a second association, Life Activities Hunter Region.

Ferrier Hodgson partner James Shaw has been brought in by Life Activities to clean up the financial mess and said there was “no question of impropriety” in the way Life Activities

    • Freethe ChildrenNow no its not true.. but you have to request the notes prior to the contact/meetings.... otherwise you will need to subpena them in Court.... I went through this very thing with DoCS... and now I get all the notes from our meetings, we dont get contact notes because our contact visits are unsupervised now.... but be sure to request in writing and make copies of the request then send the

Revealed: Twenty six children in HSE care became pregnant in one year

New figures show 556 youngsters were taken in as their families were ‘unable to cope’
While 415 were victims of ‘neglect’ at home

Twenty six young girls in the care of the State became pregnant in a single year, the Health Service Executive has confirmed.

Another 218 youngsters vanished from their care homes, according to official figures, with many disappearing for days or weeks on end, and one of them – Daniel McAnaspie – found killed.
