When Children in Foster Care Want to Come Home
By Michael Borusiewicz

Note: This file will be updated as more information comes to light.

You can put in for a dismissal of the current orders. You need to go to the department and talk to them about it and then file against the current order. You need to prove the child does not want to be in care and that your circumstances have changed and how and why their better off at home. There is a word for the dismissal but i can't think of it right now. Will get back to you on that. He said the courts tend to listen more when the kids are 13/14 and up.

6 Mistakes I’ve Made as a Foster Parent

on Sat, 10/25/2014 - 08:09
Forums:
If I had the time, I could have written this as, “600 Mistakes I’ve Made as a Foster Parent.” I’ve messed up a lot. However, what keeps me going is knowing the significant need for foster parents — and how much more important that is than my ego. I’ve aimed to be as honest as I can with the foster care home-finding caseworkers and if they think I’m a good foster parent for the kids they are helping, then I’m here. Ask any child welfare professional and they’ll tell you that they aren’t looking for perfect parents, they are looking for ordinary people willing to give foster parenting a try.

What is the law when a foster carer wishes to take their foster child out of the country

What is the law when a foster carer wishes to take their foster child out of the country

A question regarding the rights of parents associated with their children in foster care which is often asked is what rights does a parent have if a foster carer wishes to take the foster child overseas with them.

Understandably this situation can cause quite some anguish for a parent who has been robbed of their children and stripped of all say in circumstances relating to their child. To have strangers leave the country with your child, and to have no say in the matter is not an experience anyone would wish to endure.

So, how much say does a parent have in this situation.

Father of dead foster child warned officials about baby’s alleged killer

The father of a baby recently killed in a Cedar Park foster home had warned Child Protective Services more than a month ago that his daughter was in danger, but he says that caseworkers refused to believe him.

Brian Hamilton says he told state foster care workers in September that Jacob Salas — the man accused of killing 1-year-old Orien Destiny Hamilton — was violent, posed a serious threat to the little girl and shouldn’t be allowed around her. He also lodged his complaints with the child’s court-appointed attorney.

A foster mother in northwest Arizona has agreed to a plea deal in the accidental drowning death of a 8-month-old boy.

Elizabeth Dawn Stone, 32, and her fiance had been caring for David Watahomigie for about three months before his September 2011 death.

David was taking a bath with a 3-year-old child when Stone left them unattended for three to five minutes to take a phone call, according to reports.

Last girl standing survived a `true life horror story’ then changed the future for thousands of other children

IF A HOLLYWOOD version of this story were even possible, it would go like this: four brave foster siblings testify about shocking sexual abuse in state-supervised care. They force a restructure of a government department, spark radical reform of the child safety system and change the future for thousands of other children. They take their fight for compensation all the way to the High Court and win. They buy houses, fall in love, raise their own happy kids and nestle into the warm glow of ordinary, content suburban lives.

Dozens Of Children In State Care Being Sent Back To Place Of Abuse

Dozens Of Children In State Care Being Sent Back To Place Of Abuse

There is so much proof yet no accountability. The idiocracy involved is that we are dealing with children here, and children grow up to be adults. With dozens of children sexually abused and at risk of sexual abuse in state care are we looking at a world that has gone soft on paedophillia? Are the paedophiles running the system? How deep does the corruption go? I would suggest that fast rivers do indeed run deep and that this corruption that we see coming to light is just a little trickle on its way to a vast ocean that is full of these oily creatures.
