Unfortunately, most of you who are reading this page will have suffered at the hands of this department, so we are hoping that if we all band together, something may be done. It is up to us, grief stricken parents, to join forces and fight for our Children's Rights.
The other serious concern that must be addressed is the lack of fair presentation many parents are facing during the legal process, if they are funded by Legal Aid. Many of us have had to resort to self-representation due to the poor handling of our cases by our legally funded representatives. In most cases, we are not given adequate or fair representation at either the Childrens Court or the Family Court.
The department of child safety should be a two edged sword:-
Firstly, they should be helping struggling, disadvantaged and impoverished parents and their children. Every family has problems. They offer minumum services and act out a role as the divine gurus on childrens upbringings. Their vast knowledge is gained predominantly from books used as references by universities. Many do not even have children. They come with the attitude "Their decision is always the best course of action to take." Nobody is infallable.
