Auntie Sue's Eulogy From Luke's Funeral

Luke and I loved each other more than anything in the world

When I first held Luke in hospital when he was born, he just jumped into my heart. He was this gorgeous little helpless bundle.

His birth was traumatic and precarious but he was a little fighter. He survived a fire in his home when he was only threee months old. As he grew up I could never cuddle him as he would cry and only want His Dad. Michael was everything to Luke.

Our hearts are aching now, with his life cut tragically short.... See More

Becoming a Child Protection officer

I am thinking of applying for this job as then i can make the social workers pay for what they are doing to our family's and take there kids off them ha ha cyfs

Hi Daniel, I think it's commendable that you are considering employment within the child protection workplace.
Be prepared to face an authoritarian regime, they have their buddy system well entrenched in their procedures, the corrupt, arrogant dictatorship beginning its emanation in the ministers office, with the complaints department tribunal and regional managers sharing the privelidge of rank.

This is the article about Luke that was in the Sunday Mail a couple of weeks ago. I still have not read it all, I get too upset. I went and visited his grave again last night.

More than six months before a two-year-old boy died from head injuries suffered in the home of his elderly foster carer, autorities were directed not to place children under three with the 74-year-old.
The boy, known as Luke, was removed from his drug addicted parents and placed into the home of the elderly carer in Cairns on Christmas Eve, 2008,with three other, older state wards.
On January 12, Luke was rushed to hospital with head trauma. He never woke from his coma and died six days later on January 18.

Angel and Teddy Bears on the Beach

Angel and Teddy Bears on the Beach

Here is a message I received tonight from someone I have not heard from for awhile.

Dear Michael,
Everything happens for a reason. No matter how confusing, misunderstood, upsetting or frustrating. It's not what happens, its how we deal with it. There's a star out there that shines brighter than them all. U cant miss it. It shines over YOU the most. Childhoods end, is a new beginning...
Mick, u really are the most talented artist I have ever known. Express yourself forever. I'm in Townsville painting high rises, Do your run/walk, always knew you would. I'd like to donate bugt dont have ebay.I'll put in your account. I sent your sister in-law Lee a pic of Luke and she cried.

I have never sold my art. I don't expect to complete my trip being funded by donations. I can't use Luke to get money for me. I have to fund the campaign for my son, not use my son's memory to get money.
I will start selling my art as well as playing gigs on the way. I have all the equipment I need. please let me know if you are interested, regards Luke's Dad.

We were both terrified of what was happening

I only just realised tonight Lukey, on our last visit as I put you in the car, I tried to pretend everything was good and normal so you would not get upset.
I remember the look in your eyes, you were doing a better job than me at hiding your fear. I am sorry Lukey, I wanted to protect you. There was nothing I could do. I am so sorry my little boy.
I miss you and love you forever. I can't wait to be in heaven with you Luke.

DoCS: The toilet brush of the Australian public services.

The department of child safety should be a two edged sword:-

Firstly, they should be helping struggling, disadvantaged and impoverished parents and their children. Every family has problems. They offer minumum services and act out a role as the divine gurus on childrens upbringings. Their vast knowledge is gained predominantly from books used as references by universities. Many do not even have children. They come with the attitude "Their decision is always the best course of action to take." Nobody is infallable.

Secondly,
