This is just one of thousands of stories where DOCS go in heavy handed and remove children. I don't know how these workers can sleep at night. The Government should get rid of this department and put the money into family support services and other agencies who really do care about children. Most DOCS workers are on a power trip and they think they know what's best for kids, half of them haven't even got their own kids. I hate this department with a passion and I've seen so many wrong decisions made over the years that you almost don't react now when we read about kids dying in their care and their inability to do their job. Unfortunately, they are a law unto themselves and even governments and courts can't make them accountable. What a very sad society we live in. Luke looked like a gorgeous little boy, and surely DOCS could have handled this differently, and here's a novel idea, how about this department helping the parents instead of creating societies where children and parents are separated and all the problems that go with that. I hope his Dad gets some closure and stays strong to fight the good fight.
